Located around 18km south of Hurghada airport, Sahl Hashish bay is a popular resort for fans of snorkelling and diving, who come to experience its coral reefs.
The resort has also hosted triathlons since 2014, making it a destination for sports-lovers.
At the resort’s first triathlon there were 200 participants, but in the most recent event, 750 participants of 32 different nationalities took part.
The triathlons are now held twice a year, and have seen participants from five years of age to 65.
The events are run by Egypt’s TriFactory, a company that specialises in endurance sports, triathlons, and mass participation events, as well as providing training for athletes and facilitating sports-based travel.
